I currently have two Asians on my teaching staff and they are both wonderful teachers. I judge the person by their credentials. I do not care about their race, religion, color of their skin. I only care that they are fair and can educate my students. There needs to be more "incentives" to being a teacher. As a principal in a parochial school the salary is a huge deterrent to potential hires. To stop looking to hire based on the color of someone's skin and let diversity happen naturally. There is only so much that a district can do to recruit a diverse workforce, because the candidate pool for education has been shrinking for many years now. One suggestion would be to hold a "Diversity Job Fair and encourage minority candidates to attend.
