If a strike is not made, an individual may try to knock down the remaining pins with his or her second attempt. A SPARE RESET is issued before the second ball is thrown to clear the lane of fallen pins. A SPARE is made if the remaining pins are knocked down with the second ball. After the second ball (regardless of how many pins are left standing), a strike reset is issued to setup 10 new pins. Also, a LIGHT is to be turned on when a Strike is not made and a second ball is required. The LIGHT is to be turned off after the second ball is thrown.
