6. (30 points) Based on the estimations of trip distribution and mode choice, there are 2000vehicle trips going from the Origin O to the Destination D. Figure below shows the two routes and the cost (travel time) functions, where V denotes volume and T, travel time.

a) Use the User Equilibrium (UE) method to determine the traffic assignment on two routes. Report the total travel times experienced by all travelers when the user equilibrium is reached.

b) Use the System Optimum (SO) method to determine the traffic assignment on two routes. Report the total travel times experienced by all travelers when the SO equilibrium is reached.

c) Use Excel Spreadsheet to develop a graphical representation of the travel times on the two routes and explain the difference between UE and SO methods. Please take a screenshot or screen clipping of the plots of travel times across different traffic assignments. Please clearly note the x-axis, y-axis and curves.
