Question

6. Ammonia gas can react with oxygen gas to produce nitrogen monoxide and water vapour.

a) Write a balanced chemical equation for this reaction.

(2 marks)

b) If 1.82g of ammonia gas reacts with 3.05L of oxygen gas at 29.0°C and 102.4kPa,

determine the mass of nitrogen monoxide that should be produced. (5 marks)

c) If there is 2.20g produced in the lab, determine the percent yield for this reaction.

(If you were unable to obtain an answer for the last, then use the value 3.25g,

otherwise, use your recorded answer in the last question.)
