(10 points) While talking about the impact of the engineering profession on society, as is one of the goals in this course, it would be irresponsible to ignore the issue of climate change, which is already impacting the lives of millions of people in this country and around the globe, and which the engineering profession is in a position to impact. There are legitimate debates to be had regarding what approach to climate change mitigation preference for one approach or another in this course. Comment on the potential economic impact of converting to non-fossil sources and speculate on the best manner in which that can be done in order to protect the climate while limiting economic harm.
