PROPOSED STRATEGIC PLAN FOR YOKOHAMA TEPPANYAKI AND SUSHI BAR OC RICE CONSULTANCY/nExecutive summary Yokohama Teppanyaki & Sushi Bar has been serving customers for over 20 years in Steveston Village in Richmond, BC. However, despite being located in the touristy spot and its longevity, it is rated only 3.4 stars on Google, making them lose more customers. Yokohama management tapped RICE Consultancy Inc. to provide professional business strategies and services. The RICE consultants identified several master key issues that hinder the restaurant's goals. Its absence of mission and vision, secluded location, lack of advertising strategies, poor ambience, absence of technology, utilization, and unsatisfactory restaurant experience are the major dilemmas Yokohama Teppanyaki & Sushi Bar is currently facing. The first-time project which is called the Yokohama Makeover is a teamwork between RICE Consultancy and Yokohama Teppanyaki & Sushi Bar's owner and employees. The project aims to eradicate the problems with the following goals: 1. Increase restaurant awareness This goal will promote the restaurant by undergoing interior renovation, redesigning the website, utilizing social media for advertising. sponsoring social media influencers. RICE 2. 3. 4. Improve food quality This goal will ensure food quality by training employees, improving quality control process, standardizing food preparation, and standardizing purchase process. Integrate technology to the operations The purpose of this goal is to utilize technology in the operations through using POS system, online review management, and optimizing SEO. Improve the quality of customer service By creating a set of Standard Operating Process (S.O.P), using a WPC (Weekly Prep Checklist), and creating training modules for employees, this goal will improve customer service quality. The Yokohama Makeover Project will help the restaurant to achieve higher ratings from the customers which will generate higher profits. Furthermore, this project will boost restaurant recognition, so its location will not be a problem anymore. It will also help in achieving efficiency and effectiveness of the operations.
