A chemist has developed a method for determining the active substance contained in pharmaceutical tablets. He decides to compare it to a reference method. For this, he measured the substance content of 12 tablets by both methods, and obtained following results (quantity of active substance in mg, for each tablet):

We assume that all we know is that the samples are independent. 1. (2pts) Is there a significant difference between the results of the two methods? Use 5% significance level. 2. (2 pts) At the same level of significance, can we conclude that the tested method finds a larger median substance content that the reference method?
