Question

A frictionless piston having a mass of 40 kg is fixed in position by a pin in a long horizontal tube with a diameter of 125 mm. Inside the tube has a volume of 15 liters of steam (water vapor) at 5MPa and 400 °C. When the pin is released, the piston is accelerated to leave the tube with an exit velocity. If the steam is a saturated vapor (x = 1) at 600 kPa when the piston exits the tube, what's the exit velocity of the piston? Assume that the atmospheric pressure is 100 kPa, and the tube isadiabatic.
