The magazine has indicated that the article should use the following structure and content:
• Introduction. State the purpose of your article; which two works you have chosen and briefly
summarise why you believe these are significant works
Comparative visual analysis of the two works you have selected. Comment on the similarities and/or
differences in the use of visual language in the works, including reference to the stylistic conventions
of the relevant art movements or film genre.
Evaluation of the significance of the works. You should give a clear opinion on why the works are
significant. Please justify this in relation to ideas which will connect with the broader themes of the
magazine issue, such as:
o the art & design movements to which they belong
o the socio-historical or technological context of the work
their significance in terms of style, techniques, materials and influence

Conclusion. Briefly summarise your opinion on the works and suggest one or two further resources
related to the work which the readers may wish to investigate.
