As shown in the illustration below, water from reservoir A flows through a 500m long syphon or pipe of diameter d= 0.2m and into a reservoir B which is located

20m below. The top of the syphon, C, is located3.0m above A. The length of the pipe from the upper reservoir to the top in C is 100m. Minor losses are neglected and the major head loss in the pipe flow is given in terms of the friction factor, f= 0.005 and Darcy-Weisbach's equation. Assume fully developed turbulent flow in the pipe and kinetic energy coefficients equal to one (a= 1). Calculate the volume flow rate between the reservoirs through the syphon.
