Academic offences warning You may not use any libraries except for the standard Java runtime, i.e., libraries that are imported using import java.[something]. The work that you submit must be your own. It is an academic offence to submit somebody else's work as your own. This includes submitting code that you have downloaded from the internet and code that was produced in collaboration with another student, even if you have modified this code. You may study internet resources, textbooks, etc. but the code you submit must be written by you, not taken from or modified from these resources. Simulation of Multiple Queues A supermarket can serve multiple queues of customers. Whenever a queue gets too long, some customers will automatically switch to another queue. In this assignment you are asked to simulate such a queue known as a double ended queue where you can enqueue and then dequeue from either end. In our application we only need to enqueue to the back, there is no need to for enqueue to the front. In this assignment, you will use fixed arrays to represent the queues. In this assignment you will create at least 4 queues to simulate such a queueing system in a supermarket. You can assume that each customer has a unique name (ie. Create a pool of Strings eg. 50 to assign to each queue). The program will randomly assign the names to the queues (so some queues will eventually be longer than other queues). Every time when assigning, the difference in length of one queue compared to others is more than 3, you will dequeue from the back of the queue and reassign randomly to one of the other queues. Eventually you will have 4 queues (The longest and shortest queue will differ by at most 3). 1 1 Setting up Create a class called Supermarket. It should have a name and an array of double end queues (DEQUE known as deck) to simulate the queues in the supermarket. All queues will be empty at first. Create a DoubleEndedQueue class to model the queue for this application. 2 Supermarket: QueueUp Add a method public void queueUp (String name) to your Supermarket class, which will allow the user to add a customer to one of the queues in the array. The method will randomly select a queue for the customer to add to. If the difference is more than 3 for any one of the queues, then the dequeue from the queue and enqueue to another queue. 3 Double EndedQueue: Enqueue Add a method public void enqueue (String name) to your Supermarket class, which will allow the user to add a customer to the queue. 4 DoubleEndedQueue: Dequeue from the Front Add a method public String dequeueFromFront () to your Supermarket class, which will allow the user to remove a customer from the front of the queue. If there are no persons in the queue, then it should return a null. 5 DoubleEndedQueue: Dequeue from the Back Add a method public String dequeueFromBack () to your Supermarket class, which will allow the user to remove a customer from the back of the queue. If there are no persons in the queue, then it should return a null. 6 Supermarket: Serve Customer Add a method public boolean serveCustomer() which will randomly pick a queue to dequeue from the front to your Supermarket class. Whenever a queue is emptied too quickly compared to the rest, the difference of maximum 3 between any 2 queues must be adhered to. 2 7 Testing the code Write a main method that does the following. 1. Create a Supermarket object with 4 queues. In the main method, create a String array of 50 or more customer names. You can read these names from a file if you wish to. 2. Use Supermarket's QueueUp() to put all the names into the array of queues. 3. Run through the serveCustomer() to serve all the customers in all the queues.
