A t-test is used to calculate whether two groups are the same or statistically different
from another. This is done by comparing the means of two groups. While there are a
couple of different types of t-tests depending on the relationship between the data, for
this exercise you will use the independent-sample t-test to determine whether two
groups are different.
Use the "Chapter 4 Data set 2" sample data from the image above. Calculate an
independent samples t-test to compare the data from the two conditions. Regardless of
whether you do this by hand or in Excel, report the t-test statistic, and determine
whether this value is statistically significant (table B2, one-tailed, alpha 0.05). Be sure to
submit a file showing your calculations.
