Note that, although you will need to refer to Chapters 3, 7, and 8 of the book and the slides of Weeks 3 and 4, you need to do your own research (online, etc.) to answer some of the questions. 1. (20 pts) Give five examples of questions that help add depth to an activity by unveiling the meanings attributed to it. Briefly explain the importance of each question. 2. (30 pts) Among the age-related impairments mentioned in the book and covered in the class, select one mobility-related, one sensory-related, and one cognitive-related impairment/disability (a total of three impairments). Provide the following information for each: a. Prevalence in the USA b. Known treatment options - if any c. Existing assistive technologies that help populations with that impairment 3. (20 pts) Provide at least five examples (e.g., services, assistive technologies provided, building design, etc.) from SDSU campus for minimizing restrictions created by the context. You can give a maximum of two examples per single constituent of the SDSU campus context (e.g., physical, academic, social, etc.). For each example, using two-three sentences, explain the reasoning, the populations that can benefit, etc. Provide your references. 4. (10 pts) What are the selection methods with a control interface of an AT? Give one example from each. 5. (20 pts) Discuss the challenges of designing an eye-gaze control interface.
