Effective teachers should be able to analyze and critique the curriculum to ensure that it is developmentally appropriate in regards to social-cultural, age,
and individual characteristics. This assignment will afford the student an opportunity to investigate and evaluate a chosen curriculum to determine if it is a fit
for their current classroom.

This assignment has two parts. Ensure that you address each part of the assignment to receive full credit.
Part 1: Locate a curriculum via the internet, or place of employment and provide the following information:
Curriculum name
Where you located the activity, i.e. website, place of employment (ensure that you properly cite and reference this information).
Description of the curriculum.
Part 2: Using your knowledge and the information in your class text, and the included resources determine if the curriculum is developmentally appropriate
for your class or age of children by answering the following questions. Be sure to explain each question with supporting facts from your text, current
knowledge, or included resources. If you answer no to any of the questions, include how the curriculum can be adjusted.
1. Can the chosen curriculum keep the children active and engaged?
2. Are the goals and objectives clearly stated?
3. Is the curriculum evidence-based?
4. Is the curriculum play-based?
5. Does the curriculum build on prior knowledge?
6. Is the curriculum comprehensive?
7. Is the curriculum supported and supports the state standards?
The essay must be 1-2 pages in length, 5 paragraphs, 3-5 sentences per paragraph, written in APA format, include a minimum of at least one scholarly
article to support the curriculum being discussed, and provide a reference page.
