Chris supervises a production unit that has recently begun to make a new chemical(not on EPAS TSCA list) and she becomes aware that a PMN has not been filed by her company.She brings this issue up to her manager, who tells her not to worry about it, as the chemical is not very dangerous.
What are a possible range of actions?
If Chris blows the whistle, she could be fired or let go. If Chris does nothing, she could endanger workers possibly exposed to the chemical during manufacture. As well, if the company is caught by the EPA without the PMN filed, her professional reputation could be harmed.
