After you have attempted both learning conditions, see how many words you were able to correctly recall from list A and list B.
• Which Learning Condition did you work on first? What was your study environment? What was the song you picked? Did you use any study
strategies? How many words were correctly recalled from list A and list B? Describe your experience in the context of attentional theories discussed
in class this week. Think about dividing attention, attentional capacity, and attentional resources. How did these elements contribute to your
experience?
• Your roommate (who is not familiar with cognitive psychology) always studies while listening to music. You also see your roommate play a video
game or browsing Facebook in between study sessions for "study breaks". Now that you know more about the human attentional system and the
underlying mechanisms, what are some helpful tips you can share with your roommate?
• Support your answer with related theoretical information from this week's assigned readings.
