Students are responsible for transportation and associated fees (parking) for the visit. It is advisable that students arrive at the courthouse early to find the appropriate youth court room prior to the beginning of court session. Please see the Announcement for a link to courthouse etiquette and procedures. Tasks: • Arrange to visit a youth court proceeding. • Take a picture of yourself outside the courthouse (as proof you were there) and include in the assignment./n• Follow the courtesies of the judicial system, courthouse and court room. • Identify the various roles in the courtroom. • Maintain confidentiality of the youth in court; do not include names or identifiable information in your reflection. • Reflect on your thoughts and feelings related to your courthouse/court room experience. • Reference the YCJA and/or course material as it related to the Youth Court proceedings you experienced. • Include any questions/comments the court experience generated for you.
