For this assignment, we are going to consider how author's use concrete, specific
language. As an example, we'll be looking at this essay: "Household Object:
Freshwater Aquarium, $800." In this essay, you'll notice that the author, Hannah
Gold, uses a lot of specific details.
take a look at some of the examples below which explain the differences between
abstract, general writing and concrete, specific writing. Then I would like you to
annotate Gold's essay.
In this annotation, I am simply looking for you to identify the parts of the essay
where you see Gold using specific, concrete detail. You can do this by copying and

GENERAL: The most general terms refer to classes or groups. These terms are very
broad. For example, flower and dog are general terms.
SPECIFIC: The most specific terms stand for definite, precise things. For instance,
