INSTRUCTIONS Need to make a powerpoint in 10 - 11 slides with speaker notes based on the book that is attached As you construct your PowerPoint, make sure to carefully follow the outline below: Introduce the title, author and publication date of your novel choice Give a brief background on the author and historical time period Give a summary of your novel, including: Setting (time/place) Point of view and its importance Characters and their details (ex. are they flat/round/static/dynamic/unreliable? Do they have any noteworthy characteristics? What drives them in the novel? What conflicts do they encounter in the novel? etc.) Plot graph (introduction, rising action, climax, falling action, and conclusion) Main conflicts (person vs...) Important literary devices in your novel (ex. symbols, foreshadowing, allusions, irony, etc.) Main themes/archetypes and their significance Discuss what you liked and disliked about the novel (i.e. what were its strengths and flaws) Text comparison: connect your novel to a short story, play, novel, or poem studied in class and explain the connection, using quotes and examples. Your connection can be based on theme, character, archetype, or something else. Creative aspect: identify one object that you think could be found in your main character's suitcase, and explain the significance of this object to your character. The object does not need to appear in the novel directly - feel free to use your imagination.
