4 4 4 2 Introduction In this project, students (in groups of 2 – 3 members) will be presented with an opportunity to explore emerging Information Systems (IS) topics. Through careful research and analysis, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the selected technology, its applications, and the challenges it presents. This document outlines the tasks, objectives, and assessment criteria for the project. Objectives Research: Explore and understand a specific emerging technology within the field of Information Systems. ● ● Analysis: Evaluate the impact, potential applications, and challenges associated with the chosen technology topic. Report Writing: Summarize your findings in a well-structured and informative report. Presentation: Communicate your research and insights through an engaging presentation. Project Tasks A. Topic Selection You can choose any of the topics covered during the lectures (Supply Chain, E-commerce, Big Data - Cloud Computing – Internet of Things - Artificial Intelligence - Robotics - Large Language Models – Data Mining). Note: there will be a maximum of two groups working on a research topic and that topics will be served in first-come-first-serve basis. B. Reading and Research Use trusted resources to read and explore the topic of your choice (books, research papers, journals, etc.) C. Proposal Writing Prepare a proposal according to the following: ● 1-2 pages. Provide a brief description for the selected topic. Provide a partial list of references. ● 3 D. Report Writing Prepare a comprehensive report based on your research. The report should include the following sections: ● ● ● Cover page: Includes university name, report's title, your name (and student number), course name and course code, instructor name and date. Table of Contents Introduction: Provides both context and a preview of the whole the report Technology Overview Challenges and Concerns Conclusion References Follow MLA general format when writing your report (More info here) E. Presentation Create your slides using a tool like MS PowerPoint and use them when you present to the class. Get ready to answer any questions!
