Joshua Lopez ENG 1301 Fall 2023 Rhetorical Analysis Essay & Presentation Literary or Rhetorical Analysis Essay: You will analyze a verbal expository, argumentative, or literary text of your choosing, with teacher approval. You will need to have a specific message (a thematic statement) you think the writer is trying to convey, and explain how specific devices help develop that argument. Devices that tend to be well represented in literary or rhetorical analysis are imagery, figurative language, repetition, diction, and syntax. Audience: Write in a manner that targets an audience of academic peers. Format/Length: 1000-1250 pages for the essay. Your document will be double-spaced, standard 12-point font, 1-inch margins on all sides and will follow the MLA format. Al Guidelines: You may use AI to edit your writing, but no sentences should be generated with artificial intelligence. Grading criteria: This essay will comprise 20% of your total grade Expectation: The instructor will expect you to have: 1. A clear argument structure with textual support. 2. Effective style and usage. 3. Following directions found on the assignment page. 4. Adherence to the rubric standards.
