Question

Let's take a break from your self-concept to think about your speech framework! Have you ever heard a speaker with no direction to their presentation? You listened for a few minutes,

or maybe longer, and then wondered, "Where is this going? What is this even about?" Or maybe you thought, "Why am I here?" In any situation where you must organize your thoughts (public speaking or daily interactions), if clearly tell your listener(s) WHAT you are going to talk about and HOW you are going to discuss that topic, that's a win! You'll start with an organized approach. If your content then follows that organized plan, double win! The audience will hopefully stay with you. If you can add some engagement along the way by offering a combination of solid information and interesting connections of your own, score, score, score! And then, add some amazing delivery and you've crushed it! Just think of it this way: You may go to your boss someday and say, "I want to talk to you about a promotion (or raise... or an idea I want to try). Let me give you some reasons why." That's an organized "speech" in action! You're learning the mechanics of it now. Go, you!/n1.
