Instructions:
Dear Students,
The purpose of this group project is to provide students with an opportunity to apply their course
knowledge of leadership and change management in practice. The students will research and
analyze a change management intervention in a ‘real' organization and analyze the outcome.
Students will also make recommendations to the organization based on their understanding of
course material and independent research.
Instructions:
1. You will work with your pre-established group.
Together, you are expected to select an organization that has implemented a change
management initiative. Base your research mainly on publicly available secondary
sources, but feel free to conduct primary research if feasible.
Select an organization to serve as your case study and prepare your final report as well as
a 15-minute presentation outlining your proposed intervention.
Criteria for company selection: Choose a company that is not included in the following: IBM,
OOREDOO, Facebook, Harley Davidson, Google, Apple, NASA, Netflix, Toyota, Nokia, Tesla,
GM, Boeing, Snapchat, Adobe Change Management, Twitter.
2. Research and analyze a change management intervention process relevant to your chosen
organization.
3. Analyze the change initiative and prepare your report. While preparing your report,
ensure that you are answering the following questions, and provide the analysis by
answering these questions. 1. Introduce your organization. Provide relevant facts, and explain, in your own
words, your understanding of the situation. Conduct a SWOT analysis.

8. Critically analyze the communication strategy adopted in the change initiative.
9. Who was the main change leader? Analyze how they performed in fulfilling their
change leadership responsibilities.
4. Additionally, integrate your own analysis, feedback, recommendations, etc.
5. Your group must present¹ the case study organization, explaining why you chose this
organization, the rationale behind your intervention and detailing each stage of the
process.
6. As part of the assignment, be prepared to address questions from other groups and defend
your team's change management intervention during the final stage.
Note: All team members are expected to contribute equally to the presentation and will receive
the same evaluation. The instructor may assess individual contributions and performance, if
necessary, potentially leading to differing marks for group members.
Project Report Instructions (30% of final grade – Group Grade):
8-10 pages excluding references. Doubled-spaced, 11-point font (Times New Roman or
Arial).
All formatting must be done according to APA Guidelines for reports (Title page, Table
of Contents, Referencing).
Presentation Instructions (10% of final grade – Individual Grade):
115 minutes presentation & 5 minutes response to questions The goal of your presentation is to inform about your organization, their change management initiative and
the outcome. Duration of presentation: 12-15 minutes.
