Question

Need this in 700 words Instructions Watch the video clip below, with a scene from one of the films that we have watched in the course -- Breathless (Jean-Luc Godard, 1960). Analyze the scene in your essay. Describe and interpret the editing in the scene. Explain what is happening at this point in the film, and how the editing techniques are being used expressively or symbolically. Describe specifically those uses of editing that defy the usual rules of continuity style, making this film an instance of disjunctive or "visible" editing. In your essay, provide a brief account of the concept of editing, and the different styles, referring to and quoting from the textbook. Use the specific critical terms from the textbook (and from no other source) in your analysis to describe the techniques of editing on display in the scene. You will be graded on how well you can employ the relevant terms and concepts in your analysis, and on how well the essay is written. Re-read and revise before you submit, to correct any grammatical errors or misspellings. Format the essay, with proper citations and a list of "Works Cited" (the textbook, noting which edition) according to the basic template provided in the "Sample Essay" on the Brightspace course page. Consult the textbook for examples of formal film analyses and advice on writing film essays. See the side-bar essays on specific films as examples in the chapter on editing, and look especially at the section "Elements of the Analytical Film Essay," on pp. 413-14, in the chapter "Writing a Film Essay."
