As a piping design engineer your job is to design hot and cold water supply piping system within these homes, and also to design the piping layout to connect each unit to the main water source. For this purpose select a floor plan for a 2-story house which may include 2 - 3 bathrooms (including a master bathroom), a kitchen (with a dish washer), a laundry room (with washing machine and laundry sink) and some other necessary facilities. Your results may consider the layout of the hot/cold water piping system with piping diameters, a rationale for the selection of these diameters, and water usage. Also a Bill of materials with cost analysis may be included for the proposed piping system in each unit. Further design the piping layout to supply 20 such units placed in a 4 x 5 grid. You may also provide the design of a water storage tank and pumping station to supply water to this facility from the main water source (SWCC) located 20 km from DTV. For this layout provide complete analysis for the selection of pipe diameters, head loss, and flow rates. In addition analysis for the selection of pump is also needed.
