A box sits on a frictionless surface, it can only move in one dimension. One person pushes the

box from left-to-right with a force of 5N. Another person simultaneously pushes the box from

right-to-left with a force of 5.5N.

a) Sketch out this situation and add a coordinate axis.

b) On your sketch draw the forces on the box to make it a "Free Body Diagram (FBD)."

c) Calculate the net force on the box.

d) Calculate the acceleration that the box will experience if it weighs 20 kg.

e) What would the acceleration be if the mass were halved? Doubled?
