Purpose of Assignment I know that we are still in the human communication section, but we're getting ever closer to your informative speech!I want you to do some looking ahead and

preparing for that speech. In my world, this is called "backward design," meaning we start to look at a major assignment very early and plan for it! The real-world application of this little assignment is that whenever you have a major project for work, you want to familiarize yourself with parts, create a plan of attack, and then go about it in "chunks." That's what we're going to do here. Our first step? Giving you the opportunity nice and early to select your topic for the upcoming speech!/nInstructions 1. As you look at the assignment, what is your story about a communication interaction that went awry either personally or professionally? This can be in literally any context. It can be a major interaction or a simple interaction. Give me an overview of the story. 2. What is the communication problem that occurred based on the terms that you've learned? Pick one. Ideally, you will want to pick ONE term associated with listening OR language/problematic messages OR nonverbal communication. 3. What is/was your communication turning point? In other words, now that you have terminology to put to communication habits, what do you now know that could have been done differently? What strategy could have been used? OR, what strategy was used that you can now put a name to? What nugget will you teach the audience about this strategy? 4. Look at the outline 5. Links to an external site. 6. format and an example 7. Links to an external site. 8. . What experience do you have with writing in intro-body-conclusion format? (If none, that is 100% okay!) 9. When I say that your speech should be "clearly organized" and your content should "flow," what does this mean to you?
