C. ? I 16 by Vance Guy - Saturday, May 4, 2024, 12:53 PM Understanding our basic beliefs is vital in defining our professional ethics and personal belief system. According to the Core Values Index (CVI), my dominant kinds are Builder and Merchant. This finding matches closely with who I am-both driven and people-oriented, attributes that have always been vital to my personal and professional life (Taylor Protocols, 2021). In my job as a substance abuse counselor for over a decade, these ideals have deeply shaped my approach. Being a Builder, I focus on practical solutions and outcomes, which is crucial in a field where real improvements can be life-changing. As a Merchant, my ability to connect with individuals, understanding their wants and feelings, increases my efficacy in counseling sessions. Reflecting on the AACC Code of Ethics, the values of Beneficence and Nonmaleficence and Integrity stand out to me the most. Beneficence and Nonmaleficence underline the need to contribute to the welfare of those we assist with, which resonates with my Merchant value of promoting good transitions in others' lives (American Association of Christian Counselors, 2014). Integrity, along with my Builder nature, stresses honesty and candor, which are crucial in developing trust and credibility in thoranoutic nartnorchins. 58°F Mostly cloudy Q Search + 8:21 AM 5/8/2024 PRE ← my.lapu.edu X Discussion 1 X My Videos × Untitled Vide x | (44) How to × M Inbox (34,074 × M Inbox (2,326) X + https://course.lapu.edu/mod/forum/view.php?id=1403650 0 I 16 LOS ANGELES PACIFIC UNIVERSITY Home Dashboard My courses Helps LAPU Library Tech Support ? Integrity, along with my Builder nature, stresses honesty and candor, which are crucial in developing trust and credibility in therapeutic partnerships. My commitment to factual and actionable knowledge informs my professional activity. I focus on evidence-based approaches and real-life applications rather than abstract or philosophical investigations. This pragmatic approach not only helps in giving successful therapy but also ensures that I am always learning and adjusting within ethical constraints. Knowing that my involvement can substantially affect a client's life trajectory or perhaps save it underscores the responsibility I carry every day. In conclusion, recognizing and integrating my inner beliefs with the ethical principles of psychology not only informs my professional practice but also ensures that I uphold the greatest levels of care and honesty in my work. !!! 58°F Mostly cloudy Search + 8:21 AM 5/8/2024 PRE
