Ignoring the weight of the hatch and the friction forces around the pin, use the figure below to answer the following questions: Sketch the free body diagram for the gate and draw the pressure distributions and forces. (B) (15 pts) Calculate the magnitude and location of the force (or forces) due to the fluid pressure on the hatch. (C) (10 pts) Calculate the magnitude of the reaction forced developed on the lock (located at the bottom of the hatch). (D) (5 pts) Briefly explain how the solution would change if the lock was changed to the top of the hatch,and the pin was located now at the bottom of it.
