Question

Question #1: One-Way ANOVA Clinical researchers designed a study to determine if different types of therapy affected self- reported generalized anxiety. Clinical researchers studied 750 patients in an outpatient setting who

received a particular type of therapy for three months. A third of the patients participated in Art & Music Therapy, a third were treated with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and a third received Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. At the end of treatment, anxiety was measured with the GAD-7 scale, a 7-item scale commonly used to assess Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). Scores on the GAD-7 range from 0-21, and higher scores indicate higher levels of self- reported anxiety. Analysis Access the data by opening the Excel3_Data workbook and clicking on the worksheet named GADS-& Therapy_OneWayANOVA, Perform a One-Way ANOVA on these data. Complete post-hoc t-tests (two-tailed) using the appropriate Bonferroni-corrected alpha. Compute omega- squared as a magnitude estimate and interpret. Questions 1. Clearly state and describe the independent variable (IV) and dependent variable (DV). 2. What are the statistical null and alternate hypotheses? 3. Interpret the overall one-way analysis results (F-test). Thoroughly and clearly explain your results in paragraph form using APA style and in the context of your research question. 4. Which group (anxiety) means differed by Therapy Type? Explain the post hoc test used and its results using APA style. 5. Describe the results of the magnitude estimates analysis. Report omega-squared and interpret.
