Journal Prompt COMPARE & CONTRAST Make connections of both a comparative and contrastive nature between two poems from this week's reading. You may wish to choose one page poem and one spoken word poem for this option, but you do not have to. Include in your entry aspects of figurative language (metaphor, symbolism) and theme (what is the poem saying overall?) as well as the visual and sound elements you notice. How does each poet get their point across? Is one method (page or spoken word) more effective than another, or does each poem suit its purpose to its method? Make sure to include evidence from both poems to support your assertions.
