Response One Post Module two: Databases and Businesses Miguel Cirilo Good afternoon, everyone, Fundamentally, a database helps businesses monitor all data changes. For a company like Sheffield Metals for instance, which

is a company I used to work for, keep hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth of inventory in the warehouse. A database ensures the company keeps accountability for its inventory as well as keeping track of incoming and outgoing orders. This same database, or perhaps a separate database, is used to store customer information as well as employee information. A database helps companies keep accountability and security of all it assets. Many companies use databases. Retail chains like Publix use a database for inventory and customer loyalty programs and well as keeping accountability of employees. Social media companies like Facebook use databases to store customer profile information, passwords, and personal preferences. A company like Netflix uses a database to store subscriber information, secure money transactions for the subscription-based service and also to store its vast catalog of films and tv shows. All databases come with levels of security. Passwords are a staple when it comes to security, but most companies offer 2 step verification, which the database store the information and the verification preference.
