The manual should give details of different types of transformers, generators and motors used by EM Solutions. It should also give the client confidence that EM solutions has expertise in this product range, advising them on the best solution available for a client application. To achieve this, you will need to complete the following tasks:- Assignment Brief and Guidance The client is planning to install electric-powered conveyors into a new Gigafactory for electric vehicles, but needs advice on which motors to use to power it. Investigate the different Motors available that would be best suitable for the application. Critically evaluate their efficiency and recommend the best one for the low-speed, high torque needed to run a car conveyor belt in an assembly line. Justify your recommendation against the client's requirements and application. Also identify and explain different applications that would suit each motor. Analyse different starting methods for induction and synchronous motors and explain to the client which starting method would best suit their conveyor belt motors. Task 2 power into usable electricity. Choose a range of generator types and assess their efficiency. Recommend the best type for a wind turbine application, where it will need to cope with a range of speeds. A) The client wants advice on generators for its new range of wind turbines. In the past the generators have been unreliable, needed a lot of maintenance & repair and have not been efficient in converting mechanical Justify your recommendation for the client's application, referring to the main characteristics of the generator and its construction. B) The client wants their wind turbines fitted with a sensor to detect high wind speeds, linked to an actuator that operates a brake, so that the risk of damage in high winds can be avoided. Analyse a range of different types of actuators and transducers. Illustrate the different applications for which they are suited and justify the selection of a specific transducer and actuator for the client's application.
