The specifics for each module are below. For Classical, you will do 4 total, and there are no requirements for individual pieces beyond them being from the Classical style period. Make sure that you do not rely on a search for "Classical Music"; double check that the composer was really from the classical style period as a "classical music" search will give you pieces from all of the style periods. For each piece within a module submission, you will include the name, composer, and link to a performance along with writing a paragraph that includes why you chose that piece and why/how it fits the music characteristics of that time period. Make sure to include terminology from the class and music characteristics of the period. A reference list is required, but Youtube links or other links to where you heard the music will not count as references. The characteristics for each time period can be found in the Background/Characteristics Powerpoint and/or script within that time period's module. ASSIGNMENT REMINDERS: The written assignments in this class are based on you applying the knowledge learned from the modules. While you do need references for the playlist re: where you learned about the style period, characteristics of the style period, and/or song information, these assignments should have very few to no quotes and definitely avoid blocks of texts from outside sources Written assignments must have a similarity score under 40% in Turnitin (i.e., plagiarism software licensed by HCC for professors). Similarity scores of 40% and higher on any assignment will result in adjusted grades. If you are over 40% on one of the assignments, it is about not just similarity but also following the directions & for it to be your application of knowledge in substantially answering the questions and writing in your own words.
