The Horney-Coolidge Tridimensional Inventory (HCTI) is a personality inventory designed to measure Karen Horney's neurotic trends (Moving Towards People/compliant, Moving Against People/aggressive, Moving Away from People/detached). Your assignment is to

take the HCTI Inventory, a score it, and interpret your scores. To this, take the following steps: 1. Download the HTCI spreadsheet that contains the inventory, then place your rating of each item in the left column. The formulas in the spreadsheet will add up the scores for each subscale at the bottom. 2. Use the tables in the files below to convert your raw scores on each subscale into a percentile rank. This lets you know how you compare to others who took the test (a 75th percentile score means that you scored higher than 75% of others who took the test). 3. After you have the percentile rank, you can use the explanations of each scale in the file below to interpret what the score means. 4. Once you understand your score, post an interpretation of it below, using Horney's theory to interpret the scores. What neurotic trends, if any, are showing up in your scores?
