Usually, I organize this course so the essays get longer. But I'm not sure if Tumblr is good for that. So instead, I am asking you to write two short essays on Tumblr (750 to 1,000 words) about the two films you chose last week and watched (last week and this). BOTH essays should compare both films. Consider doing one on similarities, and one on differences. Or one on the physical production and financial aspect, and another on the style and the acting. Don't repeat anything across both essays, if you possibly can help it. Try to make each essay as unified as possible--not just a list of info. Each essay should have AT LEAST ONE critical resource, historical primary resource, historical context reference (something that happened at the time), piece of textual evidence (story, image, etc.). So that's FOUR resources per essay. (You can use more if you want/need.) And remember: you are trying to be writerly, reflective, scholarly, and historical and to answer some of the Six Kinds of Basic Questions. Your post should be largely free of grammar and spelling errors.
