The essay “The Miracle: She altered our perception of the disabled and remapped the boundaries of sight and sense” and “The Education of Frank McCourt” talk about the struggles they both have undergone to achieve in life. McCourt’s extraordinary strengths were wit, which he employs to narrate his life stories that had struggles and misery. The students' eagerness to learn about McCourt's education and achievement makes him realize how he can connect. This made them have a common ground to interact, and master the course. (Sande Dimmitt, n.d.). On the other hand, Hellen Keller’s struggle has made her look out for options to improve her abilities. The major idea of the writing is that she says that she hates the word, ‘handicapped’ as that creates hopelessness. The writings on her talk about her perspectives on life (THE SENTINEL: Helen Keller: Enduring Icon of Leadership, n.d.). Both these writings give one an understanding of the struggle that each one has gone through in life and patience has won at last.
