1. Purpose

The purpose of this laboratory experiment is to introduce the Fourier series representation of periodic

signals and explore this experimentally. We will use the waveform generator to generate various

waveforms and the oscilloscope to perform a frequency analysis. We will use the two outputs of the

waveform generator to create several two-term Fourier series signals. We will also explore the impact of

a diode clipper circuit (guitar distortion effect) on the Fourier series representation of the processed

signal. Finally, we will use MATLAB to create and visualize Fourier series representations.
