Does this mean that as unemployment decreases so will the crime rate? What other factors could cause a change in the crime rate? Why can we not rely solely on correlation to describe the association between variables?

Question 15. If there is a high correlation between two variables, then we can assume that if one variable is increasing then another variable is expected to go on increasing and vice versa. If unemployment rate decreases, then crime rate is also expected to decreases. The other factors like education, government policy can affect the crime rates. We cannot solely rely on correlation to describe the association between variables because there can be some other variables could be the reason behind this positive correlation.
