Question

(18 points) Consider you have a set of 8 inexpensive disks. You want to build a RAID system out of it. You have the option of building a RAID 0,

RAID 1, or RAID 5. For each of the following criteria, which one of the three configuration provides the best performance? Which provides the worst? a. Reliability b. Storage capacity c. Process throughput, if an overwhelming of operations on the disk are processes request short writing operations only (i.e. writing a sector or two for each request) There may be cases where you can only identify which configuration give you the best or worst performance, but not both. It is ok to state that you cannot determine that without further explanation. However, if you pick one configuration to be the best/worst you do need to justify your choice.
