less than 1.5 are usually polar covalent. *Bonds with differences between 1.5 and 2.0 will be ionic if the compound is a metal-nonmetal combination, and polar covalent if it is a nonmetal-nonmetal compound. *Bonds with a difference of 0 will be non-polar covalent (0-0.5).
