2. In Western Australia I'm concerned that global warming is going to affect cockatoo coloration... My colleague discovered that dull yellow crests can be due to the homozygous recessive genotype "bb", and that increases in temperature can cause the mutation of "B" to "b". By his estimates, the effects are exponential:

currently the mutation rate is 1/10,000

with a 10 degree increase in temperature (compared to today) it will be 1/1000

with each additional 10 degree increase in temperature it will be 1/100

Current projections put temperature increases in Western Australia at 5 degrees every 50

years. Assume each year is equal to one generation and the same starting phenotypes as above (50% yellow, 25% bright yellow, 25% dull yellow). Determine the proportion of dull crested cockatoos in 100, 200, and 300 years (note that you will have to calculate this 100 years at a time. For example, when calculating "p" for 200 years from now, you will have to use your "p" for time 100).
