Question

3. Social and behavioral research is conducted to answer questions or confirm ideas about how and why people behave in

a certain way. Before conducting a study, researchers develop hypotheses, which are basically informed guesses about

what they expect to find after conducting the research. In a nutshell, the researchers state their guesses (hypotheses),

then collect and analyze data. The findings of the analysis either confirm the hypotheses (in which case the researchers

were right), or they fail to confirm the hypotheses (in which case the researchers may have been wrong, but it's also

possible that further investigation is needed). What were the two hypotheses that the researchers attempted to

answer. After conducting the study, did the results support the two hypotheses?
