Well, we know the phase of the moon (first quarter) and the time (3 am) so we should be able to determine the moon's location in the sky for this

observer. We'll need to draw our diagrams...Diagram (A) tells me where the moon is based on its phase. Diagram (B) tells me where the observer is, based on the time. What does diagram (C) say? 5. What do you think? Was the moon visible at that time? Is the witness reliable?
