Question

a) There were 64 vehicles that were speeding out of the 481 vehicles surveyed.

Proportion = (Number of speeding vehicles)/Total number of surveyed vehicles Proportion = 64

/ 481 Proportion = 0.133 or 13.3%

13.3% of the vehicles surveyed were found to be speeding. This is a significant proportion,

especially considering the sample size of 481 vehicles. Given that over 1 in every 10 vehicles is

speeding, the community's complaints about speeding vehicles are indeed valid. Such a

proportion could pose safety concerns, especially in areas with pedestrian traffic or residential

zones. The data validates the community's concerns about speeding on Henderson Road.
