b. In my experience, there was a case where I have seen spiritual considerations impacting the health of a patient. The case was of schizophrenia. In this disease, the person’s ability to think and behave is affected. Moreover, its cause remains unknown and there is no definite treatment to cure it completely. In my patient, the recovery was enhanced when she was addressed with cultural issues like spirituality. The patient was asked about her spiritual preferences including other things like belief, stress, issues etc. At the end of history taking, it was clear that she considers herself to be religious. As a result, spiritual issues were included in her treatment.
