Calorimetry is utilized to measure amount of heat transferred to or from the substance. This change in temperature of measuring part of calorimeter is converted into heat. The measurement of

heat transfer using this approach utilize the concept of system (reaction flurry place) and surrounding (water). Since, in this experiment heat is lost by the system through water (surrounding) or water gain the heat lost by metal. This is exothermic reaction.
