Many students were, for want of a better term, too trusting of the statement, and assumed that since sin is periodic, the sequence must oscillate. Hence the values given for

the elements of the sequence were not always correct, and some students allowed n to be half-integers, in which case there are in fact non-zero values, but these are n to a part of the sequence.
