Question

In the high jump, the Fosbury Flop technique is a two-stage technique which begins with a scissor technique style take-off (the actual jump stage of the technique), and the Fos

bury Flop clearance over the bar. Model, and then calculate the position of the center of mass relative to the height of the bar for both techniques. Use your result to predict how much higher one could clear using the Fos bury flop technique compared to the scissor technique. Hint: Do this by drawing a model of the body segments at the point of clearance over the bar for both techniques, and then calculating the height of the center of mass for each technique relative to the bar height.
