Question

Most students selected A and/or B as curves for which limits exist, though the justification of this was not always correct. Importantly, continuity is in fact not required for the

existence of a limit, and none of the plots in the question are continuous. The existence of a value at x=4 is also not an indication of the existence of a limit – this was the main reason given in the few cases that C was selected as an answer.
